Loupe vs Magnifying Glass

I tried using a loupe to look at corners, but I've far sighted and have to wear reading glasses to see anything up close. It's really difficult using a loupe. Has anyone had any success with a lighted 10x magnifying glass to view corners or any other solution?

somewhere among the thread on this board is a good post about this topic. There is a recommendation in it for a device that is $5 or less, incl. shipping, from avail. on amazon, and it works well.
