Need some help on this ~2kg JM Australia bar

It's a slightly different type than the three shown on:

http://allengelhard.com/the-co...n-matthey/ag-odd-size/

The logo says "JOHSON-MATTHEY LTD AUSTRALIA" on the outsde and "REFINERS" on the inside. 1.999 kg.

The other types on the allengelhard site say "REFINED BY" inside the oval logo.

It's a neat bar. But the owner wants quite a large premium for it. Any ideas on mintage, desirability, value? Thanks!

That bar weight makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Did you weigh it? That ".999" looks like a fineness punch. It wouldn't surprise me if someone accidently used the "1" punch and the ".999" punch out of sequence and it's actually a 1 Kilo bar.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

PH- That is what I thought at first too. I'd never heard of such a size. But the AllEngelhard link above shows that a few different types of "approxmiate 2kg" bars were made. They have examples on there weighing 1.997 kg, 1.999kg and 2.000 kg.
