This original photograph is from a football game. Can anybody look at this closely and see if they recognize anyone? What about the venue? Or the team? Era?

I do believe you nailed it. Glasses....ear shape...profile....it all fits.

Now, would anybody have any idea of the year (era) or the venue?

Down the bench is a black guy, start checking into black guys on Lombardi's team. You can't see his number, but you can see enough to exclude some.

If this is a period piece which dates to Lombardi's tenure with the Giants, could that be Jim Lee Howell to the left?

Also sadly ironic to see the cigarette ad in the background.

Looks like Emlen Tunnell behind the 45 yard marker. He was # 45.
Lombardi coached the Giants from 1954 - 1958.
Emlen played for them from 1948 - 58.

Yeah, that's Howell. There's a book called Lombardi & Landry, and he's the 3rd guy on the cover.

So, it looks like we can conclude that this is Vince Lombardi to the right being the offensive coordinator for the NY Giants, Head Coach Jim Lee Howell, and probably Emlen Tunnell wearing #45. And this is sometime between 1954 and 1958.

It appears to be Jim Lee Howell & Vince Lombardi at the Polo Grounds. If that is indeed the case then the pic would have to be from 1954 or 55.
