ATM Federal Reserve Star Notes

Stopped at a local ATM to withdraw $$ and received seven (7) sequential star notes ($20 bills). The bills are crisp and appear to be uncirculated. My question is are they savers or spenders?...I don't know much about the collector value, but would appreciate any input. The serial #'s are JL 01312910 to JL 01312916, 2009 series L12 Thank you

I don't follow those that closely, but they are from a full Run and followed by another full Run. So my guess is they are fairly common.

Nice GEMs are always worth holding on to, especially if they have exceptional embossing.

  • Ok thank you for the responses.
  • Out of luck here for NEW $20 in the ATM. Bank doesn't order any new ones because they have a tendency to: 1. jam the ATM; 2. dispense too many/too few bills. The bank folks told me they don't order any NEW bills except $100s and $1s.

  • The ATM where I got the bills from was a convenience store. The embossing is easily felt and raised.
