Favorite Set to Drool Over

Just curious if there is a set on the registry that you ogle over? I find myself going on there sometimes and just enjoying the abililty to experience someone else's set.

Of course going on there and taking a look at most of Spence's collections is fun - would love to see the room he stores all those cards/sets. Those that have collected the Monster is always fun to look at.

For me it is a few that I have a personal affinity for...

Spence's 1948 Leaf Set

This Master Yaz set at 95% done

Although you can't see it...Neshek's 1970 Topps Set

My late uncle had collected cards only one year...1970. When he passed that was what I got. I wasn't too interested in anything else. Those cards I will have forever probably. So the 1970 Topps set is something special to me. It is no Neshek set though!

Okay, I just clicked on the 1970 topps link, what is going on there? Nobody puts up scans of their cards? LOL.
If you want to see some real sets, check out the 75 topps baseball registry.
I think Smokie has scans up of almost all his cards. Now that's impressive!

Edited to add: I guess you had the link to all time finest sets, so that's why no scans.
Current finest some sets do have scans. My mistake.
I'll still take Smokie's 75 topps set as my favorite to look at.

Mine is this one. Every postcard in this set is the highest graded example. One of the rarest and most expensive sets in all hockey. The images are striking and somewhat ghost-like when you go through them.

What he said. Mr. Spence could probably afford a scanner.

He has the money to hire me and I can scan everything for him. I'm sure having scans would be good for insurance purposes anyway.

Ok so I don't do the registry or individual cards so don't shoot me if this is a dumb question. Is the Neshek's set the MLB pitcher's set? I know he does a lot of autograph stuff but wasn't sure if anyone knows.

Yes, the Neshek's set is the MLB pitcher. Also his brother (or someone with same last name) runs an ebay store with Neshek's auto available along with cards.

My favorite set is one I completed as a "Master" set, 1994 Pinnacle

baseball. Took six long years, but it's done. The set is in an album

with regular, Museum and Artist Proof in 9 pocket pages. I included

wrappers, packs, empty boxes, promo cards, send aways and promo

advertising sent to dealers. The last card I got was a send away card

I bought on E-bay. I had a $300 bid on it but $15 bought. Time to

    revisit this old friend.

That is quite the set and I look forward to the scans of the cards not already scanned!

I have done other raw player sets, but the Yaz master set is one I am ready to take on. I'm not a Sox fan necessarily, but I was telling another poster what led me to this one. I bought my first two cards out of a case in a shop in the mid 80s. The two cards were an 83 Topps Yaz and an 80 Topps Bench. I think I got both cards for $1. I ran across those two cards the other day, because I still have them. I'll never get rid of them! I decided I was going to take on one of them...I decided to go with the Yaz Master set. It seemed more challenging. Older cards, more of the 1960s Topps Ven cards and just more cards overall.

I'm in the very infantile stage of this set, but I'll get there over the next few years I hope. I have about 30-35 cards to send off to be graded. I only have about 15 graded cards/items. We shall see!
