1827 O-124

I get emailed or called I'd say on average twice a year with somebody telling me that they have a 1827 O-124.
We are not even a month into 2016 and a collector emailed me elated that one was on Ebay raw and the seller did not know:

It is not an O-124. I am far from the be-all expert but I always tell people to look at the "1" in the date. The genuine O-124 has a super skinny serif.
People see an 1827 with the stars and date drawn to the edge and automatically assume it is an O-124. No. I wish that was the case but I've seen probably 100 coins like that are none have been a O-124.
