Mile High Auction

Bidding on the 54 Aaron PSA 9 is currently at 150K with extended bidding in progress. Last sale in 2014 was for 62K. With only 22 unqualified 9s, the stars aligned for this one to take off, beautiful card!

Edit: Started looking a little closer and connecting the dots. It appears this one may have been bumped from an 8.5 due to the new cert #. The touch of white on the upper right on the reverse and slight tilt looks to be keeping it from grading any higher.

Confused, not impressed with it, but still bid on it??

Think he meant "may have", as in "would have" bid on it had they been more impressed image.

if it was bumped , the cert number would not have changed from the original. another example of amazing increases in prices, these used to sell for 19K quite regularly

    Exactly. Thanks.

Also, "may have" left a little wiggle room because they may have placed a small bid to what it deserved with its tilt etc. Like 20-40k. I don't know and don't ask specifics. Not my business. And definitely not my neighborhood as far as dollar amount of cards to bid on. I can't imagine bidding 6 figures on a card. Only because I can't afford it. Otherwise Id be bidding 6 figures regularly. There are some nice cards in that neighborhood.

Going back, that tilt would have annoyed me.

Regularly? Wow. This is the first 9 that Ive seen. There are that many out there? A lot of happy people then.

Only 22 9s and 2 10s. Regardless of the tilt, slight detractions, high grade iconic HOF cards are in high demand. You have investors bidding as well as collectors, and you can guess which has deeper pockets.

I can't believe this stuff keeps going up and up. What happened to the old says, "what goes up must come down" ?
Love those 70's - early 80's packs and boxes...send me a message if you are selling because I am buying

Oh, it will go down eventually. It just won't be where it was before the run up, a new floor will be established.

Those 10's are probably worth a million bucks now.
