Any 1953 bowman baseball fans? A few raw cards to share.

I love the 1953 Bowman Set. I bought the Reese from a comic/card shop back in 1985 when I was in high school Remember walking down the card shop after school a few times a week to buy cards and comics from that shop. Recall skipping a few lunches so I could pay the $15 for the Reese. Might be time to get these graded.

I would definitely get them graded, if for nothing other than protection. Super sharp examples- do you have the complete set?

    Beautiful cards!

This is my new favorite set. I'm slowly putting one together, but it is extremely low grade. Just got a Campy in to mail a couple days ago and have a Musial on the way. Biggiest cards I still need are both Mantles and the Reese. Other than that, just need mostly commons.

Love the set -- yours are very nice examples, and I would get them graded! My set that I'm working on is also in the VG to VG-EX range -- no Reese card yet, but do have the Musial, Mantle and Snider. image

Wow ... They look REAL nice. Would love to see a better picture of them. Do you have a scanner?

There is a really good thread featuring Ted Zanidakis' article on this set- really well researched and written.

A few answers to the questions earlier.

I do not have the set. Just a few of the stars and some commons. All in nice shape though.

My scanner is not very good, so that is why i took pictures.

That is a good thread on this set over on the net54 boards. Thanks.

I love the 1953 Bowman set! Im currently working on the Hall of Fame set (26 cards as Im counting the Martin/Rizutto and the Bauer/Berra/Mantle) and just stunning photography. Ive got about 6 of the Hall of Famers and am working on a deal to acquire two more.

That Reese and Mantle are stunning lseecon!
