Expert opinions wanted - is this a PSA 'size error'?

I have read about some cards getting some 'size error' from PSA when trying to cross over. I'm not that familiar with BVG, but it looks like the card is smaller than the area inside the case. What do you think? Would this be a PSA 'size error'?

  • It looks as if Beckett used a holder which is normally intended for an early 50s Topps issue. Is this your card? Did you measure it? If it meets specs for sizing, then my opinion is that you have a shot at crossing it to at least a PSA 8, provided there are no other flaws. The slight chipping along the top border might hold it back. If it is too small or too large in measurement from top to bottom or side to side, then it may get rejected. I have a similar looking example graded several years ago which received a PSA 7, as expected. Good luck if you attempt the crossover.

I don't actively collect '55 Bowman, so as to the size, I cannot comment. If I would guess I'd say the card is trimmed, but again - just a guess. If your thoughts are trying to cross it PSA, I would say it's HIGHLY unlikely that it would. I assume that the seller has already tried to cross it to PSA and was denied.
