    Thanks for new issue. I'm continually amazed at the errors that occur in the mint process. The FUN prices are something to behold, can hardly comprehend them. And the 1986 Eagle error is just incredible. Quality control at the Mint? Oh well, without mint errors there would be no error collectors. image



    I'm still trying to digest how in the world a silver coin was minted on a gold planchet!! and wonder if any more will surface?

    As mentioned in the article, the Mint struck 2 special gold strikings of Dollars in 2003 and sold them on ebay. There are a few other gold strikings known of coins which were officially struck in silver, clad or nickel.
