  • check that the serial number is not from a sheet. The are "false" cutting errors where people take a sheet you can buy from BEP and then cut them up to produce fake "errors"

    There is a photo of an example just like this note in Fred Bart's Error Guide on page 56 (Faulty Alignments) of a 1995 $1 FRN.

    While I do not have the guide, I did see a 1995 listed and sold on Heritage in 2010, very similar although the 1995 had the cut go through the date. I wonder if these are the same bill (the one in the book and the one at Heritage).
