Auction Estimates...

I'm going to pull the trigger for the first time at Heritage, but I can't find info anywhere on what the auction estimate includes. I'm 99% sure the estimate does not include the 17.5% buyer fee, but figured I'd still check here. I have done my research on prices, but want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly and have a reasonable price in mind for this coin.

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I try to stay away from "auction fever" unless there's something I really want and can afford. Thanks in advance and wish me luck!

Usually it does not, and keep in mind estimates are only for show anyway. Look up actual completed sales if you can. It's not uncommon for rare pieces to make 2-10 times their estimate, it's easier with more common coins since there is a regular trade in them but the auction houses still often seem to set most estimates low to me.



But if you are bidding on any British coins then ignore that and never pay more than the low estimate.

Don't worry, I have done my research on GC, Heritage, eBay and Stacks and I've come to the same approximate $$$.
