Paragraph breaks

How do you post here with paragraph breaks these days? All of my posts that are supposed to have paragraph breaks in them have been a mess since they re-did the message boards.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

  • Hi shagrotn77,

In order to add paragraph breaks, you currently do need to use the html code or reply through "Quick Reply." For some reason the paragraph issue is not a problem through Quick Reply.

I reported this to our IT team as soon as I became aware of it, and it appears to be tied to the "Editor Type" you have selected under your personal options. For some people, if you have the WYSIWYG Editor switched on, it forces you to use the HTML code but doesn't cause issues uploading images. If you have the "HTML Editor" turned on, you don't need the HTML code but it causes issues uploading images. And apparently, the browser you work off also makes a difference. I am not sure why, but it's obviously a glitch and it has been reported.

As I said before, I myself find this extremely frustrating and am patiently waiting for a fix. The problem is that CU didn't develop the new forum from scratch; it's a product from FuseTalk and we've been trying to get help. All I can ask is that you please be patient and I promise your frustrations have not gone unnoticed.

    For now, try entering
at the beginning of your paragraphs and at the end if you are creating a new post. Also, I advise you to always compose and edit posts in a separate document and then copy/paste over into your forum post. I found that if you post and try to edit something, all the HTML code disappears. So if you save the post elsewhere and edit there, then you don't have to keep re-doing the HTML code. Again, very frustrating and I know this is no "solution," but it is my advice in the meantime.
