anyone here win a gorgeous albeit overpriced 1850 $1 tonight?

I would post a pic if I could, it was in an older ANACS holder, MS61 previously sold in 2005 for half the price..........crazy number if you ask me.....buyer is surely buried in these dire economic times....but the one positive I guess the coin market is still wild wild west
Note: I didn't cause attnetion to this until after the auction was over ......I am a responsible poster

How dare you post a freshly closed auction result! You could affect someone's ability to flip the coin tomorrow on the bourse!!! For the love of coin etiquette! Hahah. Just kidding. I like to post active auctions here, get chewed out by 15 different people, and then bid on the coin and win it myself. I'm just that much of a coin scoundrel.
Now about that 1850 dollar... yes, it did sell for moon money, and I don't even like it that much. Smudgy, secondary toning on the obverse and a so-so strike. Looks like an MS61 to me from the pics, and the images are washed out enough to conceal any hairlines. Unless it was won by a bidder who saw something in-hand at the lot viewing (like it's a lock MS64, for example), I can't see how that fetched $10,575. There is an NGC MS61 CAC that I like better (based on pics), which sold recently for $7k plus change. Maybe a Seated Dollar collector is lurking around here who saw it in the lot viewing, and they can tell us the scoop on this piece.
- 2016 FUN auction #1231 lot #4324: $10,575
- 2005 ANA auction #382 lot #6596: $5,175
previously sold in 2005 for half the price
11 years is a pretty long hold time and the newer photos did a lot for this dollar.
