Up until maybe 10-15 years ago they weren't worth much more than face.

15 years ago, 1966 (Fr. 1550) in Gem were going for about $400 +/-, and 1966As were bringing around $800 +/-.

Even 25-30 years ago they commanded a premium.

They have always been popular, but there always seems to be an ample supply. The 1966A and the 1966 Star are the better notes.

Great looking and popular notes however there's no shortage of them in Gem and you can find one any time you want in just about every dealer's inventory. They still bring good money in Gem but they are a bit overrated much like the $1 1928 LT notes which are EXTREMELY overrated.

If you looking to buy, look for 1966 plains from the A003133xxA pack. These notes are typically the best centered.

I have shown this many time before but here is a "Birthday" gift that I put together for one of my sons 13th Birthday !!

All (3) notes individually graded but in a combined SHEET holder.
