Lazy Sellers

I left the hobby for a while and am back in full swing however lately I have been trying to contact sellers on eBay and seldom get a response. With a perfect feedback record and reputation why are some dealers becoming so lazy.Does anyone else have this problem.

By the way it's great to be back!!!!!!

  • Yes. Lazy. Good term to apply here. Some don't bother to remove a card from a hard case to examine it for flaws before offering it for sale. Then, a dispute erupts when a buyer like myself complains that what should be a clean NM-MT+ card like advertised, actually has a huge bend and creases on the back. After a few dozen eBay messages and accusations, dropping a neg, receiving apologies and speaking with a pleasant and helpful Customer Service Rep about it, all is well and it never happened. This was my day yesterday.

Some don't bother to secure top loaders and loose cards can be found inside a bubble envelope. Some don't even bother to provide further protection for a card and then wonder why a PWE isn't bullet proof. Some don't bother to remove a card from a case before scanning it. And some quite likely don't bother to replace the empty roll.

Its worse than it used to be. Sellers refuse to reply to questions, and buyers refuse to leave any feedback.

I am strictly a buyer on eBay. I always leave feedback, and most sellers answer my questions. If I don't get an answer to a question I simply do not bid, no big deal.

I remember when ebay's system gave the upper hand to buyers. That certainly is not the case now. Buyers have the upper hand and many use it as a club. As a result, I know many good sellers who no longer use eBay. That is the bigger problem from my standpoint as a buyer

I'm a buyer 99% of the time. Sometimes I need to clear out some stuff. Inevitably, there are a small percentage of buyers that will email -- more scans, best price, blah, blah, blah. I just gave up. I no longer respond to questions of any sort. And almost all buyers are happy with my stuff. Time is money...
