If they don't get to go to LA, could the Raiders/Rams/Chargers move elsewhere?

So the Raiders, Rams, and Chargers have officially petitioned for a chance to move to LA. But obviously all three can't go to LA and frankly two out of three would probably be stretching it as well. So do these teams have a contingency plan (that's backup plan for those of you in Rio Linda & West Palm Beach) in case they don't get to move to LA? I mean how would it be for them to stick around for what would end up being a lame duck season? So what other cities could be in the running for an NFL team and why?

I just saw an article about this also. All three teams have signed up to move to LA. I have to imagine it's just in hopes of getting money from their respective cities. I think Raiders are most likely, then Chargers and then Rams. For some reason I think St. Louis is most organized and will figure out a way to keep the Rams there.

Perhaps but I imagine the fans of the other two teams will feel horribly betrayed (to say the least) and figure the team is itching to leave no matter what and thus won't bother coming to games/supporting the team (hence why I believe those who miss out on going to LA will try to go somewhere else). Wasn't there a similar "lame duck" season right before then Houston Oilers moved?

One would hope that no city is stupid enough to give these losers any money. We have enough millionaires suckling at the taxpayer teat as it is. Two of the three should fold up and we could have a reverse draft to distribute the players to the rest of the league

Dream on. You know that ain't happening! Too many billionaires making money here. Unfortunately the NFL is such a huge business that there are multiple cities who would figure out a way to come up with the money to bring a team to their town. Not just LA but several suburban cities around LA, small cities like my own Sacramento, etc.... The NFL is huge business; people, name recognition around the world, etc.... $$$$$

It defies the imagination when you consider how long it's been since there has been a pro football team in Los Angeles County. As a city which prides itself on allowing football teams to come and go as they please, hosting the Raiders for another 20+ years before they hitch up their wagons and head back to Oakland again seems like a logical thought.

Somehow the name LA Raiders just isn't the same as "Oakland Raiders".

It sounds better to me than LA Chargers.

Somehow, LA Rams has a nostalgic ring to it.
