Aluminum coins

I recently came across enough different varieties of aluminum coins to almost fill a roll. Haven't inventoried them.
Are they all junk box stuff or should I look for anything in particular?

I think I read somewhere, or maybe it was my imagination, that the aluminum coins struck by Vichy France may be of interest.

Aluminium coins aren't really any different from any other base-metal coin: the vast majority of them are "three for a dollar" scratchtray-fillers; a tiny minority are worth something. If you want to be sure you don't miss out on finding one of those rarities, there's really no option other than looking up each one individually.

Essai and probe strikes are your best chance for valuable Al coins, IMO.

Get a PDF of Krause, open the Find box, type 'Al' and skim quickly until you find a high-value listing. Make a note of them (won't be many, my guess). Then cross check with the coins you have.

I once had a forumite on the BST ask for aluminum coins. I sold them nearly all I had, which was a few dozen, for less than $1 each. And I made a slight profit. But there are some out there ...

When I was viewing lots for the current Spink auction in NY, I was drawn to French patterns of 1929 that are said to be Aluminum-Bronze! These are cool! They are not particularly expensive.
