Let's see your best self subs of 2015

I didn't sub too many cards last year, these are my two notables because I bought them raw for practically nothing.

Trout Blackless is pop 1, none higher. Pops on the gems range from 4-9. I was pretty happy for a 22 card sub from this set.

  • cool stuff so far!

Apologies for the atrociously bad pic, but it's all I have of the group together. Not bad to get 10 10's on 1967 boxing!

It was a slow year of submitting cards in 2015. These were by far the best cards I self submitted.

Congrats. What is the market price on that card? I am looking to pick one up.

  • When this card came out I used to sell this at $300+ in a PSA 10. The hot one was Strasburg as I sold those on ebay for $625+. What a tumble Strasburg has had but this first card of Harper could prove to have some value in time.

I submitted this one for a crossover. It was graded SGC 96 Mint.

Not quite sure. I think the last one I saw just went for a little over $500.00 on the bay but I don't know if that sale was confirmed. This is going in the PC.

This is a cool idea for a thread. Lots of great stuff already posted. Mike, I especially like the Gem 88 Fleer MJ. That was the first MJ card I ever owned. Anyway, here are my contributions. Nothing too high dollar as they all qualified under group sub specials.

First up is a card that filled a hole in my PSA 9 set. Always nice to get a Mint HOF RC.

Next, my favorite Anthony Davis cards of the year.

My favorite Andrew Luck card of the year.

When I subbed them they were worth a fraction of what they are now. I wish I would have jumped heavier on the bandwagon when I had the chance. Not sure why Absolute got a 9, it looked perfect to me. The light blue is numbered to 100.

Last up, it is always fun to get your raw finds graded. It is even a little more satisfying when you get a gem of a card you pulled from a pack. I bought a bunch of series II Pro Set boxes specifically to pull this card. It was one of my favorite cards growing up. I remember the excitement of pulling this card from a pack back in 1989. I could have bought this card graded 10 for my collection anytime, but I wanted to pull the card from a pack and sub it myself. It felt great when I saw the grade next to this card.

Damn, Matt. Those are some nice subs. Any reason for going with SGC over PSA on those Bird/Magic's?

I wanted a second opinion. The first one was deemed miscut by PSA. I didn't agree with the grade PSA gave the second one. I was hoping for an 8.5 from SGC, so the 9 was a pleasant surprise. I should have waited to send the third one to PSA, but I had a sub going to SGC and included it. Out of the three it's the only one I currently have, the other two were sold.
