I hope to finally get someone to bless this thing for me and assign a number to it.

CONECA let me down last year at FUN and never got back to me. I will try a different

    avenue next week.

  • To be honest guys the only coins I have ever discovered were in a pants pocket at Goodwill when I was shopping for some clothes. I would love to discover a variety and have attempted the VAM ave. but no success yet.

Keyman what did they say about it? I see artifacts on each number. Different thread would be good so we dont derail this one.

I've posted about it before. I showed it to CONECA at FUN last year. They said it is new. I emailed my photos to them. They said they would get back to me. After multiple attempts at reaching them they never replied. Stinks. I will give it to someone else at FUN next week to handle it hopefully.

LOL! I'm going to start searching Goodwill slacks like I did pay phones as a kid.

This is the only one officially recognized, I gave this to John Wexler at a show almost 20 years ago. I found four examples in a BU roll, the best one is pictured on John's site, I still have one. Around the same time someone else had coincidentally sent an example to Ken Potter at CONECA, so he lists someone else as the discoverer.

From howards on the forum some years back, regarding an interesting Shield Nickel I have that I could not attribute, so I sent it

    to him to examine:

The good news: Although the strike doubling greatly obscures the date, I do think that the little shaft sticking downwards from the 1 is an uncatalogued RPD. I have assigned it 1873 S2-3005 in SNV. Please let me know if and how you would like your name listed for the contributor's credit.

I'm just wondering why DDO-001 isn't indicated on the label.

Although it's a major doubled die it's not a recognized variety yet by NGC in their Variety Plus attribution list. Anacs does

What's it gonna take to get it recognized?

If I remember correctly I think they need to grade 3 or more for it to be considered for their VP attribution. I could be wrong

  • OAKSTAROAKSTAR Posts: 7,222 ✭✭✭✭✭

Is it listed in the CPG?

I've never seen a coin price guide. I don't think it's in there though. Maybe after I send some to PCGS it'll get in there

  • OAKSTAROAKSTAR Posts: 7,222 ✭✭✭✭✭

CPG does not stand for coin price guide. 🤣 😂

Thanks. It didn't make it into the newest edition. Maybe next time around. Hopefully
