I'm a world notes collector so not much knowledge in US notes. What is special in LGS?

Alex, the appeal of the Light Green Seals has many aspects. It is individualistic of course but for me it's the stunning, almost 3-D appearance(especially in higher grades) as well as ,at least in the 1934 series, all the lower serial numbers(which many collect avidly)are within the light green seals serial number ranges.Staying on task, here's my last catch of 2015-it was overnighted to me as it seemed important to the seller to make sure it was my last buy for the year(maybe he figured it would end up on here!).A sweet little 1928 K-Bomb!

My last 2015 purchase was this really nice LGS; a surprise as I thought my bid would probably be too low, but I'm happy. Onward to 2016!

Alex that note is gorgeous! Love the LGS's everyone!

The LGS notes are very striking to see in person. On some notes the green glows so much you would think there are batteries in the note somewhere. image

Here are my last purchases of the year. Forgive the eBay pics, I have not received all of these yet.

A dirty but nice narrow face $5 fp.2031

DGS non-mule $5 with a really nice light green back.

    A tough $5 SC 1934A K-A block bp#637 mule!

Great notes Jim. I love the vignette on the back of the Brazil note! That same beautiful vignette is on an very pricey Mexico note that is on my want list.

Forgot about these. A couple more from the Heritage auction, surprises all since I had to bid within my remaining 2015 budget. 2015 budget not spent = "classified" LOL.

That note sure looks like a LGS note, but falls in the DGS range. It was delivered July 20, 1932.

Here is my last 2015 purchase (trade).

Edit to add: Yes, the LGS notes are very attractive, and highly sought after by collectors.

I enjoy collecting LGS notes, but also like the Vivid Blue Green Seal notes as much.

My last "official" purchase from 2015 is a $10 FRN 1934 DGS mule from San Francisco in Gem. I have others that I just need to invoice to myself and enter into my collection.

Here's my purchase from the last HA's Tuesday night auction of 2015. HA's scan, hopefully it won't take as long as my win on the 15th to get to me. My first from Municipality No. Two.
