great stub; it's amazing how small the crowd was that game....

I noticed that too, the small crowd. Wonder if it would of been a sellout if MM was going for 61.

Of course, as far as they were concerned Maris was just "that other guy". image

the fact that the announced attendance was only 23,154 makes this ticket more desirable...I met Tracy Stallard once at a charity event and he couldn't have been a nicer guy

    Hey Matt,

Awesome ticket to one of the most historical events in sports. Is that your personal ticket or did you buy it ?

Hey thanks. I purchased the ticket. Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to have attended the game. My dad was 12 years old in 1961, and he is the one who got me hooked on Yankee nostalgia and the iconic teams of the '50's and early '60's. As a 12 year old kid, he created a scrapbook of newspaper clippings from the 1961 season, which he still has. He was also at game 3 of the '64 series when Mantle hit the walk-off homer to set the record for WS home runs. He still has that stub.

I may have mentioned this before in another thread. A friend of mine attended the game as a young boy. He was there with a group of newspaper delivery boys who had won a promotional contest related to their newspaper delivery job. A trip to the stadium being the prize. He still has the program from the game. Neat stuff.

    Nice stub Matt!

Here's my stub for #60, with a couple of programs from the game. I heard the programs are extremely scarce as well and maybe more scarce than the stubs...

Has anyone seen a program from #61 game? I don't recall ever seeing one in my travels/searches.
