Missing package, now what?

I've been buying on ebay for almost 10 years and this is the first time I've had this happen and I'm not sure what to do next.
I won 8 PSA 7 1970 Topps cards on 12/19. Nothing to special, but 5 of them were the All Star cards, so the total was over $85. Seller shipped on 12/21. On Christmas eve our mail came at 3:45. I know this because I had another package in the mailbox as well as our mail and the package shows delivered at 3:45.
I checked ebay around 5:00 to see where the missing package was and it showed delivered at 4:15. I'm guessing this was delivered to a wrong house, because it wasn't delivered here. I'm going to the Post Office tomorrow, but my wife tried that Monday and they were no help, so I'm not expecting much out of them.
What do I do from here? If I file a claim on ebay, the seller will have delivery confirmation and I will lose.
Any help will be appreciated. I don't want to lose $85.
