Roger Maris single-signed ball

Just had this one authenticated by JSA. Wish it were signed on the sweet spot, but a nice pickup nonetheless!

Nice pick up; that's the location of the ball that Maris preferred to sign (including team signed balls)....He most likely left the sweet spot open for The Mick.

George Brett always preferred to sign in that location as well on team signed items.

  • Thanks! Yea most of the Maris balls I've found have his signature on the side panel. I do have one with his signature on the sweet spot, but it's not a single-signed ball. I think it's a reflection of his modest, unassuming personality. He never wanted to be in the spotlight. I think that's one of the reasons I like him so much.
  • Great signature on a well sought after ball, Congrats
