Sacagawea Proof Dollar Ugly Tarnish

I was at the bank the other day in my safe deposit box and looked at my dansco album with the unc and proof Sacagawea set. Some of the proofs are turning quite ugly. I noticed the uncirculated coins looked great for the most part. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas why?

I didn't have my phone to take pictures. I wonder what they will look like in another 15 years.

I have seen splotchy and lacking all luster in the circulation realm, that's for sure. As for mine, I have seen similar grade problem free at PCGS but they thought mine was ugly AT. I figured I had a shot so I sent it in. Oh well.

Please don't take offense, coinsarefun, but that 2000-s made me think of a Zombuck, only in Technicolor. The reverse is pretty though.

I think both pictured examples are very nice, especially the reverses. I keep my Sacs in Dansco albums, one for business strikes and one for proofs and all are toning nicely.
