1990 Leaf collation

Bought the little guy a couple of boxes of 1990 Leaf series 2 , and opened one of them last night with poor results. Out of entire box got one each of Thomas, Maas and Justice, but plenty of John Candelaria's, Nelson Santovenia, Bip Roberts.. With the number of cards per box at 540 and half a set at about 260 you should get about 2-3 of each player per box. Does that sound correct? Box was still sealed so I don't think it was tampered - just bad luck I guess.

I've opened lots of these over the years and your box is typical. I have hit 1-5 Thomas in a single box and the variation is all over the place. When you see Jeff Hamilton in the pack, Mr. Thomas will shortly be on his way.

Isn't only one Kevin Maas card in the box a good thing? image

That was good, my thought exactly. While were at it you might as well throw Justice in the mix

    It never leaves you...

In today's world yes one Maas and one Justice are fine. Back in 1990-1992 it was Thomas, Maas, Justice, and Larry Walker in series 2 you wanted. Horrible collation on this one, but for $38 bucks not bad.

Played against Thomas so i was partial to his cards when they came out. Series 1 has Griffey and Sosa and never played against them. Still remember the days when those boxes went for $300 each and Thomas raw was $85!

Oh yes I just finally got a set for I think $30-$40ish to go with my 1991-95 Leaf sets (which fit neatly in four binders I might add, and the 1992 set is the Black Gold version) and even if they're not worth as much as back then they're still the same cards right?
