Any slab value/premium here? What might it be?

I bought this coin for the purpose of my PCGS Registry Toned 1950-1964
Proof Set. I think it is a good place holder but might I upgrade if a better
COLOR example came along. Anyway, I figured I would check if any forum
members could share their knowledge about this slab. I do not see any
major damage to the slab. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure yours justifies a premium however... it's not exactly what I would call attractive. Maybe if the coin is "all there" both as a 66 and a true cameo.
I personaly like those old holders but I try not to pay extra for them.

ive seen quite a few of them.

I know that your images are just quick and better images would show the coin better as these images make the coin toning look very thick and undesirable.

Although it is a cool holder I see no value in the holder. I have been taking a Morgan around in a holder like that from show to show, and there seems to be no interest in all in the holder.
Is it the holder or the coin?

what TomB said
What TomB always says, basically.
But when comparing to PCGS or NGC coins and prices, these older ANACS holders can sell for a slight premium to those as well, especially when it's a relatively inexpensive coin or common date/grade. Once you get to more expensive coins or coins that are at or near top pop, then they will almost certainly be selling for a discount to PCGS/NGC coins of the same grade.

The 50c coins are tough boogers to find nicely toned for 1950-1964 proofs.

it is a nice colorful common Morgan, at just above sheet, so if the holder had value someone would have taken it by now.

The small ANACS holders are currently called Type 11, 12, and 13.
The one pictured is a type 11.
Type 11 -- Feb '89 to Jun '90
Type 12 -- Jun '90 to mid '91
Type 13 -- 1991 to 2005
ANACS then went to the large blue holders
The terminology for your edition is the "alphanumeric" slab . . with the letters followed by numbers. I won't try to get into the possibilities of upgrades / value / rarity as it just incites certain Board members, but let's just say there are some nice coins in those holders, and there are undoubtedly some 'not so nice' as well. I certainly look at them when I find them and have had a good run of luck selecting MS64 and MS65 Morgan alphanumerics and cracking for PCGS grading. My 'best' score on the alphanumerics was a 4-coin submission (your results may differ -- a proper disclaimer) -----
1909-S-VDB ANACS MS64RD -- PCGS MS64RD
1914-D ANACS VF35 -- PCGS XF40
1922 No D (Strong Rev) -- ANACS VF35 -- PCGS XF40
1942 Walker ANACS MS65 -- PCGS MS66
That one was a my best, but there have been others.
Evaluate the coin. The slab has a certain allure for sure, but as far as a basic 'slab premium', it is nonexistent. However, the blur of the truth is that the holder was used during a time of (relative) conservative grading in some series . . . .so there are possibilities and that can translate in some conditions to a slab 'interest' if not premium.
Have fun . . .
