PSA - if you want to give everyone on the board a Christmas present...

PLEASE FIX THE FREAKING MESSAGING EDIT SCREEN!

There's nothing more frustrating than typing up your post, especially in the BST so that it can be READABLE with returns and spacing, etc., and then going back to update it and having all that HTML ERASED.

Seriously - this shouldn't be that hard to fix, there are literally tens of thousands of these same message boards on the intrawebs where this doesn't happen. To be perfectly honest, it should have never been this way in the first place.

Thank you for listening. Merry Christmas!

  • Hi everyone,

I understand your frustration (trust me) and I assure you we are working to get the issues resolved. Please remember that CU did not design the software and we are bound to work with Fuse Talk to resolve the issues.

We appreciate your patience on this matter.

My only advise at the moment (which is something I have to do myself now when posting/updating) is always write and save your post in a separate file and make your edits there. Then just copy and paste the text over when you need to update a post. Again, I know it's not ideal and it's tedious, but it's the best way to avoid doing double the work in the meantime.

For fourth generation software to have such a fundamental bug that is taking this long to fix doesn't sound that encouraging!

Hopefully it won't be much longer...

I asked FuseTalk and got this reply:

You may want to speak with your forum administrator and advise them of the issues - Collectors is responsible for the functionality of their installation.

CU, feel free to PM if you need help configuring the software to fix the issue... I'll gladly work for vouchers!

The response back makes no sense - "we did not design the software." If you did not design the software I assume you chose the group that did design it, and if I spent money on an upgrade that did not work I would ask for (a) a refund or (b) a fix to the issue.

It's really not a difficult issue to fix. Any software company in the country or any person with training in this field should be able to fix the issue within a day or 2. It's not like were dealing with super complicated problems.

  • Hi all,

Perhaps as a non-IT person, I may not be explaining it correctly, but I assure you that I'm not trying to stall or place blame elsewhere.

That said - we are a grading company first and foremost. This means our resources will be directed to our grading/internal systems first.

I am not saying that the forums aren't important, but they do have to fall in line in the long list of priorities.

As I've said, we do appreciate your patience. I got word from our IT group that they were able to figure out the line break issue at least and it appears to be working.

There is a long list of issues we're trying to tackle and they will be addressed in due time.
