Gavelsnipe down?

Hello! Just wondering if gavelsnipe is down for anyone else? Had about 7 auctions I had snipes on tonight that are not showing up and when I try to place snipes for tomorrow nothing happens.

Thanks,
Albert

Hmm, maybe. I had some snipes set tonight that didn't seem to get actioned.

Same here. Had a few snipes set to go off tonight, and not only did they fail to execute, but they don't even show up on my "recently lost" tab. Not a huge loss, but this would've really sucked if it was a card I really wanted. First time this has happened to me in 5+ years using gavelsnipe.
  • Same here. Most just disappeared, fortunately I saw what was happening and manually sniped the rest of them. I thought I had done something wrong.

Not just Gavelsnipe, all mine through Myibidder failed as well. At least they show up in my 'Lost Snipes' to let me know why. One mentioned CAPTCHA/verification code issues and the rest in the minute or so around then were Refused login. Just eBay messing with us again, if I was a seller and missing out on all the bids I would be rather upset.

Gavelsnipe isn't loading new snipes. Couldn't login on Gixen. Auctionsniper let me add a snipe, but I'd rather avoid paying $0.25 per snipe and use the free guys instead if one of them gets back up and running. I haven't heard if auctionsniper is actually working as far as placing the bid though. Just entering it into your queue of snipes on their site is more than you can do at the moment on the others.

IMPORTANT (UPDATED 12/18): eBay sniping has now been restored, but we will continue to monitor it for further issues. eBay has been intermittently blocking GavelSnipe from sniping so eBay snipes may not work at this time. Please note HA.com and MPE snipes are NOT affected by this issue. Thank you for your patience. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

What is the advantage for ebay to block these sites?

Destroy the competition before releasing their own snipe service.

Gavelsnipe was down for me yesterday, but seems to be working tonight again.

Do those of you having problems with captchas have 16-character, lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and special characters (%,*,),) etc? Basically they're trying to keep people who have stolen your password out by confirming that you, a person, is actually making the bid. You are having a computer program bid for you, so eBay servers are trying to figure out if you're trying to actually bid or if your account has been taken over by someone else. It doesn't have to be a conspiracy.

That's an interesting take and could be an explanation. eBay has been giving sniping programs a fit for many months now. I stopped using biddingscheduler because they capped how many snipes I could place with a given seller in a close range of closing times. I think if eBay were planning to come out with their own sniping service, they would have done so by now.

Sounds like the ticket scalping subsidiary the Cubs own.
