This is by now old news but a question for the group

With the December 13 Greysheet there is only one price listed. No longer are there two prices with the words "bid" and "ask".

Is the a good thing?

What say you dealers and collectors alike.

I don't think those are the only 2 interpretations of what it would result in. As of now, I am undecided.

I wash my sheets so they don't turn grey.

It looks like they dropped all of the ask prices. What is left are the bid prices. Since they are reporting wholesale prices that seems to make sense. As a big benefit, the print is now large enough that I can read it.

Like your quote very much. Just for fun turned out just right. What color are your sheets?

Since most Dealers want everything 15% or more under bid and never respected ask prices, I think this is much more accurate. Listing a bid price only is an excellent way to narrow down what a given issue should be priced at. Then a person (Dealer or Collector) can adjust to their specific circumstance.

    I'm fine with it.

I believe the modified format was covered in the front page article of a recent weekly edition.

Obviously the greysheet is not a report on dealer to dealer transactions anymore! Used to be, bid was what a dealer would offer for a coin and ask was what a dealer would offer a coin to another dealer for. Greysheet had nothing to do with retail.

Beginning to think it is time to go back to a percentage off trends(which has been the benchmark in Seated coins for many years) or other info.

Hopefully this will result in not only larger print, but also more grade categories listed.

And what percentage off trends (or coin values) would you use?

Most people I know who used trends were around 60%. Of course this is not a blanket formula!

60% of Trends for wholesale. Interesting. Thanks, amwldcoin.
