Stolen USPS Package bought from Ebay - what to do?

Hi, I bought an item off ebay and believe it was stolen after being delivered outside of my house. This was about a $150 item that was shipped priority mail. I opened a case on ebay and the seller responded by reiterating with the usps info saying it was, " Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at ...." what's my next step? Will i be covered since it was stolen?

No, unfortunately, if package is under $750, seller needs only on line delivery confirmation to prevail. It's not the seller's fault the package was stolen. What makes you believe it was stolen? I have seen cases where a package is scanned as delivered only to show up the next day or two. I would check with the PO and with your mail carrier to see if they recall anything. Hopefully, it will still turn up. Good luck.

Had the same thing happen to me. I tried to open a paypal case and it was denied. I did get a police report and keep watching on EBay in case it surfaces. I think that is my only hope of recovery. It is a bad situation because the seller really did nothing wrong nor did the buyer.

Did you check this online? Call your post office. Often times this has happened to me where the package is out for delivery, and marked as delivered, though I wasn't home to receive it. The package goes back to the post office, and they'll try the next day and leave you a note. Hopefully that is the case in this situation.

On my paypal I always had my address with "(BACK DOOR!!!)" so that the only way anyone knew I had a package was if they were really scoping out the mail, I lived in a somewhat sketch neighborhood until recently.

    Good luck!
