iPhone/iPad App for finding, tracking, and searching auctions now available

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to reintroduce myself and let you know about Collectable, an iOS app I’ve been working on that allows you to search and track items in many of the major sports auction houses.
The app came out of the problem all collectors have in trying to find what they are looking for in spite of auctions happening all the time, each with their own website. With Collectable, you have access to all of them all in one place on your iPhone or iPad. The app is free and has several other features such as the ability to save wishlists that automatically get updated as new auction come online. Plus you can get notifications when you get a wishlist match, items you are tracking are ending, and other important events.

The Collectable app can be downloaded from the App Store here:

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments, thanks!

  • I am not that much of a stickler for where what goes and why. But here are two ads in a row with one being blatantly bumped to the top. Once would probably be enough. Not that big of deal because I'm first to say whatever. And I have been attacked by trolls and others with not much to do but exercise their keyboard muscle.

I just don't want to see this forum cluttered with ads after ads. Good luck in your endeavors but you may get more sales in the B/S/T forum.
  • Thanks for your input, if it is a problem I will move it to the B/S/T page. However since I am not selling anything (no premium tier, no freemium model, no ads) it didn't seem to fit there.

"Not selling anything" like when I get called during dinner hearing "Wait a minute sir. Im not here to sell you anything but would like to give you a free trial blah blah blah"

Sounds disingenuous but if Im wrong then I apologize. I know all of the free apps that the kids download the company isn't giving it away for altruistic reasons.

Seriously. Why would a company devote such considerable time and effort if there isn't some sort of gain at some point for you or who you represent? If you are "working on" this completely without some hopeful gain in the future then I admire your altruism and thank you. Im just coming from a place where few people do anything completely for free without some motive.

Under your Merchant services there is a "free trial" tag which I imagine there is a time when someone is paying someone.

Sounds like a great product Dan. Thanks for posting. I see you are getting a warmer reception for it on 54. I would not have found it in BST

  • I think someone is rather grumpy today!

I don't see what forum this would fit in EXCEPT for this one.

The OP has been a member since 2003, so I'm sure that he is rather familiar with the forum rules and what goes where. As for your accusations, all you need to sign up is your Name and Email. No phone number, social security number, rights to your first born child, yada yada. I have been using the app for a few week and it's simple and sweet. I'm sorry that you live in a world that people dont do altruistic things. I'm not saying that this app is doing that, but as of now, it doesnt seem to be gathering any personal information except for the bare basics for creating a username.

  • This app is free and there's somehow a problem with posting it on B/S/T? Have you ever read this board? I would say 90 to 95% of the posts are a complete waste of time. Perhaps like mine...

I've been using the app for months, it's been great. The owners are also very open and responsive to suggestions.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Agreed!! I've been using Dan and David's app since the National and it's been very helpful. Plus they are straight up, honest guys. Best of luck!
