How exactly is the turnaround time calculated?

I submitted cards for 7-day turnaround and they were received by PSA on 12/4/15. Does that mean I should have my grades in 7 business days from that time or cards shipped to my door within the 7 days?

You get your grades within an estimated 7 business days of when they log. Logging is different than the day the package is received. The 7 is estimated, not guaranteed. The number includes only business days, not weekends or holidays. The clock starts running the next day after they log. So, if they logged on 12/4, your business day 7 would be tomorrow.
