Packaging problems delayed the November release. Now the Silver Content Legislation put a fork in the product. All other products that included the 2015 ASE are also affected.
I'm not sure this series holds much support here in the forum.
Update, 12/12/15: Tom Jurkowsky, Director of the Mint’s Office of Corporate Communications, responded to a query from Coin Update regarding the set’s cancellation: “The Mint was working well towards resolving the packaging issue. However, because of the recently passed legislation, the product would not have been able to be offered in 2016. Accordingly, the decision was made to cancel the offering.”

Apparently the new law was poorly written, and requires that all collector issue (Proof and Uncirculated) silver eagles issued in calendar year 2016 have the lettered edge without reeding. It did not allow for the sale of existing stocks of older-date coins still in inventory.
