Where is everybody?

Bronzemat and I were talking about how the forum seems really quiet lately.

Everyone hunky dory? Holiday stuff hopefully? Check in if you are not dead or being held against your will.

    Having my WYSIWYG Editor turned back on appears to have solved my image posting problem.
    (Reply paused as one of my cats just threw up)

    Anyway, I have shilling that I will post in the near future, but since I do not like to set up my camera for just one coin, I am awaiting the arrival of three medals from overseas; two from Germany and one from London.
    London has not mailed yet, despite a purchase on 12/3. One item from Germany was mailed on 11/30, but the vendor still has not provided me with a tracking number, so I do not know where it is. The other item from Germany was somewhere outside of Pittsburgh at last report, early Friday morning.

    Well, it was mostly like a virtual "well being check" like if we were all old people and it was really hot outside.

    With my upcoming wedding and Christmas, it is like a stress sandwich that I am in. I have been mostly working on updating pics, attributing some stuff better and hopefully finally doing a mass sell off of duplicates myself. The money will stay in the collection but now that I have some true dedicated areas of interest and deep involvement, I should start getting rid of stuff that has accumulated over the years. Some young kid or new collector will appreciate it much more than I do at this point.

    You probably need to set your time zone offset in your profile settings. All of the posts are showing up with proper time stamps for me.

    To get a proper date/time stamp, go to your profile, change your GMT location to something other than your time zone, change to Australia or someplace, update your profile, then go back into the profile and put in your correct GMT adjustment. That should do it.

    Busy and only sporadically lurking. There's a coin or three I want in the Heritage auction and my New Years resolution is to finally do full justice to my custom set ATS. it's a slabbed version of my Japan Dansco. Need to add three coins, then photo the rest and add descriptions. One or two or so may have been liberated from the plastic to go into the REAL Dansco but that doesn't mean they can't be in the custom set.

    On the plus side, my eldest just got his acceptance letter from his second choice college, and is waiting to hear from his first. Happiness, now I just have to figure out how to liberate his share of my post-911 GI Bill to pay for it.imageimageimageimage

    And I just wrote this last post a few minujtes ago at 8:07 PM on the 14th and it shows as 1:05 AM on the 15th.

    And when I try to actually update my profile, I get an error message:

    ERROR: One of the values in the url has not passed validation.

    Error Code: 113

    Busy time of year for sure.

    I also think the new software may have thrown a few people off a tad.

    When there is a change to something your accustomed to doing or using everyday, and that thing or routine changes, it can take a small adjustment period for people to get back in the swing of things again.

    I still can't grasp how to make paragraphs, and it's bothersome, but it will get corrected eventually.

    I suspect by the time the middle of January rolls around this place will be perking up.
  • ajaanajaan Posts: 17,587 ✭✭✭✭✭
    Bill, even though the time zone is correct, you must still change it. The same thing happened to me.

    Don: I can't change it because I get the error code that I posted above. I can't find anywhere on the site that tells me what the prob is or for "help"

    Ah, I see. Bummer. This software has a few bugs. Send a PM to SportsModerator1.

    @syl -- Try these steps:

    FIRST, go to your profile and remove ALL text from the Signature Box. After removing the text, click on "Update Profile" and see if you still get the 113 error. Most of the problems with URL pass issues are caused by odd characters in the signature box.

    image

    ==========================================================

    SECOND, if you are able to remove all text in the Signature Box above and save your profile without an error, then go to the Time Zone boxes.

    1) You will need to select your appropriate Time Zone.

    2) You will need to enter the time zone adjustment offset value in the Time Zone Adjust box that corresponds to your selected time zone.

    image

    I hope this fixes your problems.

  • brg5658brg5658 Posts: 2,399 ✭✭✭✭✭
    You should be able to add the signature line back, just don't use any HTML coding or less than or greater than symbols in it. You can only use the special characters outlines in the linked page at the bottom of the signature box.
