Arguably the most elusive R5 Overton in the series, the 1836 O-121 can be a major stopper when building a set of Bust halves by die variety. With just 14 examples graded by PCGS in the last 30 years, the scarcity of this die marriage has become quite apparent. Most collectors have settled for low grade and/or damaged examples to fill the hole in their set. The present coin, a modest VF20 (a grade above the condition census average) offers more than just original, damage-free surfaces, but it also represents the small number of 1836 O-121 that have been numerically graded by PCGS. I bought the coin in November of 2014 and it has since then been a favorite of mine, but I've now turned my collecting focus in another direction.
I'm asking $1650 for the coin.
For comparison, the most recent sales of comparable coins include;
PCGS VF25 at Heritage in 1/2014 for $1997.50 (link)
PCGS VF20 at Heritage in 7/2012 for $1782.50 (link)

Is BustHalfBrian getting out of bust halves? Say it ain't so! Nice looking coin.
I'm not quitting the Bust halves completely, but I will be selling a handful in the coming weeks. I won't go into the details on why I'm selling, but I promise I'm not going anywhere.
