If the Cav's were 23-0...

Can you imagine what ESPN would look like. 24/7 coverage of Lebron. All articles on Lebron.

The Warriors are 23-0 and they barely get a mention and cannot even make the top story.

ESPN may make more of a big deal of it if/when they lose and who defeats them.

I disagree. They talk quite a bit about the Warriors, but football will always be king on ESPN. Even during the off-season they will talk about football for a significant percentage of time.

I listen to Russillo & Kannell most days at lunch at lunch and they seem to talk about them every day.

Both locally in the Bay Area and nationally the Warriors are getting a fair amount of media coverage. After the college and NFL football seasons are finished and we get into early February I suspect that media coverage of the Warriors (especially if they continue playing at the level they are playing at now) will increase dramatically.

ESPN will continue to prostrate itself and worship at the alter of LeBron James, but will have to give a nod to the Warriors in general and Steph Curry in particular. Especially so if the Warriors blow out the Cavs in their 2 regular season games and in the NBA title series.

Alright, I have some market research. I went to lunch and listened to Russillo & Kannell between roughly 1:30 to 2:30:

    Segment 1) Football and CTE

Segment 2) Tim Legler and the NBA. Main topic was how great the Warriors have been but did discuss the strength of the East (10 over .500) v. the West (only 6) and how bad Kobe is now.

Segment 3) About the 76ers and tanking

Segment 4) Wilbon. Talked about the Heisman. Also a little bit NBA and the Warriors streak.

Segment 5) NFL 5 questions. After the last one about Andrew Luck, they somehow ended up talking about the NBA GMs and how no one picked Curry to start a franchise a the start of the season.

An admittedly small sample size to be sure, but the Warriors were getting plenty of love today.

I am not disagreeing as we would be hearing more about it if were the Cavs for sure. The Warriors are different than the Cavs though. Since "the decision" Lebron has more haters than before. That makes him more "newsworthy" for lack of a better word. The Warriors are really not strongly disliked like so many of the great teams (Patriots, Yankees, whatever team Lebron is on). They are like the Spurs in that regard. There are Spurs fans and there are people that could care less about the Spurs. Not too many haters though. The Warriors are like that in my opinion. I, as a King's fan, am not a Warriors fan but I am happy for their success. No hate. Less hate = less excitment = less for ESPN to sell.

The fact is the Warriors are a great story. They became great with excellent draft picks and good trades. As a King's fan I know we could have picked Steph, Klay and Dramond but instead got Tyreke Evans, Jimmer, and Thomas Robinson with much higher picks. OUCH! Lol.

For now. Wouldn't surprise me if the Warriors run another 20 or so off at some point. I don't think Klay played in the OT game Friday or the Buck's game. If they stay healthy....

Warriors play like a team. That's why they beat the LeBron in the championship.

Oh ya, there's that too! Amazing people forget that. Lebron was basically a one man band by the championship series.

    If the Cavs were 23-0.........................

.................. then the 132-98 BEAT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! they received last night, at home in the Q from the Warriors would be so much more painful than it actually was.

The Cavs looked completely outmatched last night. They had no answer for anything the Warriors did, on both ends of the floor.

The look on LeBron's face when Curry stole the ball from him and took off down the court spoke volumes.

First it was surprise and trying to figure out what was happening.

Next was realization of what was happening.

Next was complete and utter frustration.

Finally there was complete resignation, with narry a hint of competitive fire in the belly.

After having the ball stolen from him by Curry and going through the above range of emotions displayed on his face, LeBron made no effort to sprint down the court to try to catch up and make a defensive play [like he did another time in the game where he sprinted, leaped and blocked a breakaway layup by one of the Warriors].

It must be extremely frustrating for LeBron to know that he and his teammates (with all of them at full strength) are not in sync as a team, thus leaving Cleveland vulnerable against teams such as San Antonio and the Warriors.
