Have you ever accepted an offer and then the buyer didn't pay?

I get an offer from a (13) FB buyer. It wasn't great but fair, so I accepted it.
Then I never hear from the buyer again.
After 2 days, I sent an invoice and then opened a non-paying bidder case after 4 days.
I can close it and relist on Monday.

It just seems strange to me that someone gets to buy it at their price, but then doesn't pay.image

Could the buyer not know how making an offer works? Could he or she be on vacation without net access?

ebay newbs can be fickle and perceive the process as insignificant. a perception of ebay that gets under my skin.

it is a good idea to send a message re: i see you are new, anything i can do to help.

getting everything connected can be a pain at times.

has happened a few times im sure but i spend very little effort remembering the few nuisance trans due to the immense amount of problem-free ones.

If he doesn't pay just close the case, block him from future business and move on.

Must be contagious as I too have a BIN where the buyer with 250+ FB has not paid. Sent a notice after 4 days and I too must now wait to relist. $54 is all. First non paying buyer in an awfully long time.

Unless the buyer specifically looks for the eBay notification, it's easy to miss.

He'll probably pay before Monday once he spots and reads the various attempts to contact eBay and the OP has sent him.

I have had couple lately. I just relist and move on. I don't even get worked up over them anymore. There are tons of clueless people that had no one to teach them how to be a good person growing up.

    Routine. File and move on.

BUT, what I have found is that timing can be key. If the offer is not responded to quickly, even though ebay lists 48 hours, some offerers figure after a couple hours, offer not accepted, and move on to something else. Then, a day after they already bought something else, offer comes back accepted.

Yes, many times. It's called buyers remorse.

Many times. Open unpaid item and they won't be able to do it too many times
