It's pretty common on that card, I just pulled one earlier this week. Someone posted an uncut sheet a year or so ago when I was questioning that one as well and Topps just messed up on the sheet border. There's another card or two in this set that it impacts as well, IIRC.

    Nice hits on the Elway!

Yea, then I'd have two of them I would be happy to submit!! Still might, they are probably worth it.

First up tonight, 4 packs of '80 Wax

I'll just the scans do the talking...

Most of the centered cards were almost miscut on the back image
  • DboneesqDboneesq Posts: 18,219 ✭✭
Too bad about the miscuts on the back.

The reason you got all the miscuts? A beautifully centered MONTANA is awaiting you in the next pack.

The 79 Lions leaders says Baker had 23 sacks. Is that true??
  • True. Al "Bubba" Baker was a beast his rookie year. One of the greatest rookie seasons ever and now all but forgotten.

Lastly tonight one pack of '77 wax

A really nice Randy White and a couple of decent team cards...

  • ooo I like that OJ. I'm a little biased as I am a 49er fan and OJ's first card in a 49er uni
  • Randy White 2nd year is really nice as well.
  • DboneesqDboneesq Posts: 18,219 ✭✭
Is that spot on the Randy White on the card or your scanner?

    In a "9" you might get $25.00. In a "10"? $150.00+

It's on the card, looks like a common "defect"
  • Those 77's look sharp and fairly well centered. Nice OJ as well.

Up tonight, one pack of '76 wax

Top 4 cards were off center but the left to right centering cleared up on the bottom 6 cards. One was also centered nicely top to bottom but the others were slightly off.

Some minor star power did show up though.

The first big pack of the group, a '70 wax pack (2nd series as it turns out)

This pack was awesome, other than the gum card (on front) and some minor wax on the back (of a HOFer no less) all the cards in this pack were well centered. A couple of stars in there too plus a beautiful last card (#263) of the set!

Sadly, the Bobby Bell looks like it's miscut on the back and the top corners are a little rough image

The Charlie Taylor has the wax on the back.

  • DboneesqDboneesq Posts: 18,219 ✭✭
Wow, those are some sharp looking cards. Ever since I was a kid watching him, I always wondered "who the hell would name their kid HAVEN"? If I only knew what was to come! Lol

Next up a '69 Wax series 2 pack...

3 - 4 in 1 cards in this pack, wasn't expecting that! One badly damaged by the gum, the others in nice shape but off center.

This pack had really sharp cards but all suffered from either centering issues or tilt issues or both! Still may be a few worth submitting though. I love seeing nice clean black borders even if they are on the back of cards!

Another wrapper for my collection as well. With this pack I've opened at least one wax pack from my birth year up until wax packs pretty much disappeared!

Buncom - what a sad story ... died at age 29. (The morning of Opening Day in 1969).

BTW ... his grandson will be playing DB at Stanford next year.

Edited to add: He died 09/14/69 ... I wonder when the above card was issued?
