Did Anyone Pick Up Anything in the Collect Auction?

I was able to grab the 83-84 O-Pee-Chee hockey wax box. Got outbid on a bunch of other hockey wax. Some cool unopened in this auction.

Best,

Scott

Congrats Scott. Glad you could pick up the hockey box. I was interested in the 72 BK wax box but was shut out of that quickly. I would have bid about $3300 as my max bid before BP, but it got there pretty quickly and I didn't want to chase it.

Unexpectedly, I picked up the 1971/72 Basketball vending box.. Couldn't believe it sold for the price it did. Don't think I'll be able to keep it though, so its likely headed back to auction or sold elsewhere.

I was watching the 1975 Topps BB cello. It would be a nice item to have but not at $6447 or $270/pack plus shipping. I can't believe some of the prices on the high end for items that are not rare and can be purchased all day long at BBCE or ebay for less. 1981 TOpps FB wax box $1226, BBCE all the time $1000 or less. 1978 Topps BB wax box $2437, BBCE $2200 and ebay probably less. The vending box and cases prices seem strong but I understand that is probably due to where they originated. Unopened product is alive and well.
Love those 70's - early 80's packs and boxes...send me a message if you are selling because I am buying

I also found prices to be stronger than retail on a number of items, including the 75 cello box. I can only surmise the winning bidders do not spend time perusing eBay.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
