1968 Mets signed Ball, New Pickup

A little dirty but overall Nice.

Is there anyway to clean a little of the grim off without hurting signitures?

  • I don't think you'd want to apply any type of cleaning agent or solvent to the surface which could potentially harm the ink or ball surface. The Ryan, Seaver, Berra & Koonce sigs also bear a certain amount of importance to the overall value. It appears some of the sigs stayed pretty intact, while others faded slightly. Cool piece of memorabilia.

Nice! Is it really '68? Matlack didn't make his MLB debut until '71, but I guess it could have been signed during spring training.

68 is what they told me, either way nice early ball with good signatures
  • Yup. '68. Also includes the name Steve Renko, a mid-60s Mets draft choice who joined Montreal in the '69 NL expansion.

Amos Otis. Sent down to minors for '68 season.

Also see Dan Frisella, which I believe is a tough auto as well.
