Did Armando Galarraga even realize at first the blown call (in his almost 2010 perfecto)

You guys remember how Armando Galarraga was down to the last out in going for a perfect game in 2010, but umpire Jim Joyce's blown call cost him the would be perfecto (the batter was still a giant step/a yard or so away from the bag when the ball entered Armando's glove).

Well we all know that but I couldn't help but notice that Armando had his back completely turned away from the base/batter, so I couldn't help but wonder...I don't think he even realized the blown call in that moment. Maybe he was smiling/cl***** acting at the time more along the lines of "oh that would've been so swell to have finished that perfecto...but I guess he beat the throw and that was that, but hey how many guys even come this close?" Shoot if anything, I think his shortstop who made the throw (forget the name) seemed to take it even harder; his expression was all like, "oh why didn't I throw it harder/quicker??" He was much too far away to probably notice in real time that the call was blown.

And when the booing start he was probably puzzled about it until he must've finally saw/realized on the big screen what happened. Yes I know I sometimes over analyze things but sometimes it seems like I notice certain things that are often overlooked.

I think he knew immediately. The smile was one of utter disbelief.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

The blown call was made by Joyce. My wife has an aunt named Joyce. We're visiting her for Christmas. Did Armando galarraga predict my Christmas plans?!?

Watched it live. Miguel Cabrera wanted to kick his ass for costing him the perfect game.

I'm also surprised Jim Leyland wasn't more upset than he was...I distinctly remember how pissed he was at that 1997 World Series press conference regarding if the wild card Marlins really "deserved" to be in the World Series (yet nobody said a word about the wild card Broncos winning the Super Bowl that same year; go figure).

PS: We can't say @ss but we can say piss?
