Met Pete Rose Today

Pete spoke at a local Fundraising Banquet this afternoon and while he didn't sign any autographs for the attendees (he did pose for a picture with all individually beforehand), I have a colleague who is friends with Pete's agent who took us into a back meeting room afterwards for a private meeting as well as to get a few things signed.....Pete then took off to spend the night in Philadelphia & is heading to Mexico tomorrow....

That's cool! I really enjoyed Pete during the playoffs, he had a lot of good things to say about the Royals.

he told me he picked them to win in five games (and no, he didn't bet on the series!).

What did you think of him, personality wise? Did he seem like a good guy?

  • "He picked them to win but, no, he didnt bet on the series." Did you believe him? Congrats on an extended visit. How was he during?

Pete was good; his Banquet stories were a tad PG13 rated at times (women & some children were in attendance), but as Pete remarked to the crowd "What are you going to do, suspend me?"...The backroom talk was the best because there was just a handful of people there and the conversation was more geared toward his playing career....

All in all, a great entre' to the Holiday Weekend!

Yep, you can make a case for all 3. Rose holds the most records.
