Only 5 weeks to get home a coin won in Ebay action

I found a coin on October 4th, waited the week to snipe on October 11th. and it finally got to my house on November 17th.



Now in fairness to the seller, it did arrive at the Post Office by Saturday October 17th but....



When I saw the coin, I was sure it was a Cherry Pickers variety, unattributed, in a PCGS holder. When it arrived that Saturday, I needed to sign for it (and my PO is closed on Saturday's), so I had to wait for Monday. As soon as I picked it up, I went across the street to my coin shop to look closer.



Sure enough, it was the variety I had hoped it was. My dealer asked if I wanted to submit it and I said I would have to wait until I had more to go with it (it is expensive to submit a single coin). At least find something to perhaps re-holder and do some True Views.



My dealer said he had a half dozen submissions ready to go in the next day, and one was a re-holder submission, so we could add it there.



So, off it went to our hosts. Another week for it to show up on the submission page. Then it showed up as the correct variety within 4 more days, but took nearly another week before the True View showed up and it was finally shipped.



So after more than 6 weeks from first spotting it on Ebay, it now finds it's place in my Variety set.



Coin was a 1883 No Cent FS-1301 PCGS MS65, tied for highest graded. The one it is tied with, I was outbid on in a Heritage auction a few years back. This one cost about half of what that one went for, so waiting did pay off.

For those of us who don't know the CPG designations by memory ... what is the 1883 No Cent FS-1301? TIA

Nice grab. What I find strange with PCGS Trends is that the FS-1301 (15 attributed) has "value" amounts listed, but not the FS-1302 (20 attributed) (which is my Type Collection). It must have been a really good sellers image to identify the base of the MPD 1 under the 8...or was it the characteristic die cracks?

I identified the 1 sticking out of the 8. I have cherry picked 4 others (all raw), but the highest grade I could get was AU-58 (twice)



I also matched up the die cracks at the top. What was interesting is, after I had already won the bid, I was looking at the reverse. The first one shown in Coin Facts has no die cracks on the reverse and mine has a bunch, so I was worried. I then looked at one of the others imaged on Coin Facts, and it had the same die cracks.



As noted, once I got the coin in hand, the re-punched 1 was clear as day.
