Cancelling a transaction on ebay

I bought a card with BIN and before paying realized I already had one of the cards. If I request to cancel, can the seller give negative Feedback?

Sellers cannot leave negative feedback at all.

As far as I know, this is correct.

Explain to him the situation. If he's at all reasonable, he will understand and kindly agree to cancel the order. It's in his best interest to as he can't force you to pay and it would only ruin any future trust/sales that he might get from you.

Depending on the cost of the card, I may consider purchasing it anyway. I have done this in the past and instead of inconveniencing the seller with relisting it, just went ahead and paid for it. Obviously if it was a several hundred dollar card, it wouldnt be possible, but if it was a $10 or so card, I would prefer not to make an issue for the seller and just eat the money and chalk it up to learning not to hit the BIN unless you truly want to BUY IT NOW
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I am strictly a buyer on ebay. If it was a seller I did regular business with I would ask to send card back for credit toward a future sale. If it was a one time sale I would keep the card. My mistake
