Are all the Bowers & Merena Auction Archives lost forever?

Or is there a site that saved them like the Stack's old archives

I've tried the search XX time for anything and zero comes up.
I doubt they are lost, I just don't think they care enough to spend money on fixing the search function.
Look how long it took them to get their site to be moderately usable at all.
So I remain optimistic, but not enthusiastic in the near term.
very sad that you even have to ask this question!!
I know... Still by some unknown miracle it beats digging through 25+ years of catalogs
Is it just me, or is anyone else heartbroken about how Stacks took Teletrade, an auction site I enjoyed personally, and ended it?
Stacks and Teletrade were both owned by Spectrum Group. They didn't end Teletrade, so much as they merged them under one name, I presume for brand recognition reasons.

I don't think it's searchable.
It is not complete, but this is about as good as you're gonna get
I don't think it's searchable.
Thanks but those only cover some of the US coins as that are not the full sales.
man this is one big black hole that keeps several of us in orbit and refuses to rectify.
it still seems to me that a solution was posted here quite a while ago but now has been so long, it will take only the most obsessive and knowledgeable of these archives to bring it back to the light.
seems like it had something to do with modifying the url(s).

I do understand the ownership aspect, however, Teletrade had great, weekly auctions. These continued, to a lesser degree of quality, as "iAuctions" with Stacks. Stacks eventually announced they were going from weekly to monthly "iAuctions", if I recall correctly, but now, I don't even see those happening anymore.
My apologies for any inconvenience. We are currently working to launch a new archive platform with additional auction records and tools to help you find what you are searching for. This should be released in the next couple of weeks.
Thank you,

But it only has info from the when Bowers & Merena started posting auctions on the web. (I cannot get a PR for Bass I which was held May 1999, for example).
You might be able to get newer auction info (up to about 2006) by clicking on the date slider at the top.
EDITED TO ADD: Sorry, it only has the first page of the PR. Struck out!
Trivia: Did you remember that Collectors Universe bought Bowers & Merena in the early 2000s?
The bits and pieces there are helpful. I appreciate the info, Pruebas.
Pruebas:
There is some confusion in this thread about the history of Bowers & Merena. Classic B&M (New Hampshire) spanned from 1983 or 1984 until B&M sold out to CU-PCGS in early 2000.
B&M had a web site, with auction info, during the late 1990s. At least two Bass sales were posted, though the CU-B&M site disappeared after CU sold B&M. Until recently, all four Bass sales were also archived on a site run by the Harry Bass Foundation. I do not know why those listings were taken down. Please ask this foundation to restore them, pictures, text and prices realized.
CU-B&M(New Hampshire) continued to operate until around 2002. After the two top officials at B&M(NH) were forced out, B&M was moved by CU to Louisiana, where it operated for about a year or a little more. Paul M. and Mark B. were the senior officials at B&M-Louisiana. CU-PCGS then sold B&M to Spectrum, which moved B&M to California and put the late Steve Deeds in charge. In Jan. 2011, Spectrum-B&M became combined with the Stack's-ANR entity when Spectrum purchased 51% of Anderson-Stack's-ANR. Later, the other 49% was sold.
CoinDeuce:
This statement is almost true. The cited site is an archive of ANR sales from 2003 to the middle of 2006 and an archive of Stack's-ANR merged entity sales from 2006 to Dec. 2010 or early Jan. 2011. My guess is that a Stack's(NY) auction from 2004 would not be included. Try stacksarchive.com! I hope that Brian K. decides to keep all the old archival sites intact and active, as I find them to be very helpful, especially www.prior.stacks.com
Broadstruck:
I have suggested to Brian K. that PDFs of the Garrett, Eliasberg, Norweb, Starr and Bass sales be made available at stacksbowers.com. These are extremely important events in the history of coin collecting.

Researching die varieties is one of many reasons why it is educational to study old auction listings, online catalogues or physical texts. Much can be learned about the pedigrees of many coins that are currently being offered. It is relevant that there are many coins that were certified at lower grades in the past than they are currently. Researching past auctions also contributes to an understanding of condition rankings, condition rarity and overall rarity of specific issues of coins. Readers may also learn about the history of coin collecting.
After a forum member revealed, in a different thread, that he was cited in the Eliasberg '97 catalogue, I reviewed relevant portions of that catalogue and thought much more about Liberty Seated quarters. I also found his name and became aware of articles that he wrote long ago, which QDB cited in that catalogue. Collectors now may be surprised by the wealth of information that can be found in old auction catalogues and/or online versions of them.

PCGS certified, Eliasberg 1794 cent has been in several epic coin collections
The Norweb 1797 Half Dollar, among the top five of the entire Draped Bust ‘Small Eagle’ type
In any event, I hope that the new SBG site will have high-resolution images and old catalogue text regarding coins that SBG and Bowers&Merena have auctioned in the past. Listings of Eliasberg, Norweb, Floyd Starr and Garrett coins would be great.
Is it just me, or is anyone else heartbroken about how Stacks took Teletrade, an auction site I enjoyed personally, and ended it?
Yes. I think it is just terrible. Teletrade was so much fun. And now..nothing. Unforgivable.
Are there any updates to this? I sure would like to have the old archive sites back.
@DMWJR I was able to search for a coin that I bought in 2012 yesterday and I found it. Not sure how far it does but it was still user unfriendly (I searched by type and date and worked my way backwards).
DMWJR:
We should all tell Brian and Chris K. that we would like the prior.stacks.com and legacy.stacks.com sites to be revived. They were very helpful and would provide information that several participants in this thread are seeking.
In a different thread, CoinOsaurus announced that PDF files of all Stack's(NY) catalogues are available, thanks to the "team" at the NNP.
There were really four Bowers & Merena firms, B&M(NH)controlled by QDB:1983?-2000, CU-B&M(NH)-2000-02?, CU-B&M(Louisiana):2002-03, and Spectrum-B&M(CA):2003-10. I am taking these dates from memory and thus they may not be precise.
As far as I know, the current management of SBG can add the Spectrum-B&M records to the current SBG site and grant permission to the NNP to digitize all the Spectrum-B&M catalogues. If these projects have not begun, we should suggest them.
The pre-2004 B&M material is a different matter. There are complex copyright issues. Does CU-PCGS own the electronic rights to such material?

This is an old thread but I'm interested in any information concerning "Bowers and Merena Research, Inc." I've found bits and pieces but would love to have access to all.
