New cheap variety pick-up

Couldn't pass this up for under $100. The overdate is pretty clear. Should get it in a few weeks, if it makes it across the pond safely.



If it grades it will be the first of this variety at PCGS and will fill a hole in my Carlos IV set.

Neat coin, 2k. I also liked your registry set. Some beautiful coins in there, especially considering that your theme is circulation strike coinage.



It is the first time that I have really looked at this type of coin in any detail. I can see the overstrike but also the style of the 8's and 0's amuses me.

Nice one! There are a few cool Portrait varieties around the turn of the century and they all seem pretty scarce. Ever seen the 1801/1791? I haven't.

Dan, I think I've only seen that one and the 1800/799 on gold, not silver.
