My Kenner Starting Lineup interview with NFL Films (now on YouTube)

Back in the spring NFL Films contacted me about my starting lineup collection (Football only of course), and wanted to come to me and do an interview. They actually came for a pre interview, visited one of my ice cream shops and then came for the tv interview. It was about a 5 or 6 hour process and one of the greatest things I ever had the experience to with my "toys". Well, the time has come and the air date is set. It's not a super long interview and only a half hour show (I am not on for the entire show, only a part).

The name of the show is "NFL Films Presents" and the title of this episode will be "The Long And Short Of It"

Thursday, November 19th, 10:30 a.m. Eastern time on fox sports 1
Friday, November 20th, 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on fox sports 1
Saturday, November 21st, 10:30 a.m. Eastern time on NFL Network.

If you can check it out, it would mean a lot to me!

Please share!
Thank you!

Update.......

It's now on YouTube!

For anyone that missed the my debut on NFL Films Presents about Kenner Starting Lineups, they finally posted it on YouTube.NFL Films Presents "starting lineups"

Very cool! can't wait to check it out. So how did the NFL find out about your collection? I'm guessing they are displayed at your ice cream shop but would like to know for sure.

I really don't know. I have my McFarlane Yankees displayed at one of my ice cream shops, but no Starting Lineups. My collection has been featured in Men's Health Magazine, Beckett Magazine, online at Kennercollector.com and this article on mademan.com.
    starting lineup article
So I am thinking one of these sources. I never in a million years would of thought my collection would catch the eyes of the NFL.

Very cool story. I spent a lot of time chasing SLUs at the stores in the early to mid 90's. I still remember then look on the cashier's face at Shopko when I bought seven 1991 Michael Jordans (six jumping and one shooting) in one trip. The only ones that I have left are all the sealed Packers.

I wasn't able to see your stardom. Are all of your figures carded? How many do you have loose? You shoudl photograph or scan everyone and upload to your website.
  • curchcurch Posts: 590 ✭✭✭
It's too bad you missed it. Hopefully it will be on again. Most of my collection is loose. But I have some sealed! I have over 1,000 loose figures. I love taking random pics of my stuff, but I don't have a website.

I don't even know what that means. Its a secret? Meaning you have to know someone that worked at the factory? AH's?

I had no idea a former player conceived the idea and ran with it.
  • curchcurch Posts: 590 ✭✭✭
According to Collinsworth, they all wanted one. I heard rumors that all players got a prototype, but I was never able to confirm that.
