Here's a "tin can far above the Moon" with the blue planet Earth.
You'll see the Command and Service Module just above the Moon's surface (in actuality 60 miles above the Moon) to the left of the Earth, just near the tail end of Gene Cernan's signature.
The guy made quite an image of himself that led enough followers to gave him riches, fortune and fame. What else is there to say......other than, I wasn't one of them, never spent a dime on that one.

Bowie was truly a Legend. Under Pressure/w with Queen and Rebel Rebel were iconic classics as well. So many great albums

Mr. Bowie was a very intelligent, somewhat eccentric, and likeable man. He would have been a success at any endeavor he chose. His music, much of which he himself characterized as somewhat farcical, was but one facet of his overall genius. He was an interesting man. R.I.P.

"Luck is what happens when Preparation meets Opportunity"
Bowie was never stuck in a musical rut, he always managed to innovate and incorporate new musical styles into his own songs. An incredibly creative human being, he will be missed.
I wasn't a huge fan, but I liked some of his songs, and it's hard to remember the birth of MTV without thinking of some of the videos of that period. "Let's Dance" and "China Girl" certainly bring back high school memories for me.

But can he tell what shirts he wears?

That's a good one!
However, it won't win any moon shot awards, because a moon shot that is done correctly will not contain any legible text on the slab label.
He must've shot that after re-entry.

One of my favorites of his songs is "Width of a Circle" from 1970 featuring Mick Ronson (also gone) on guitar.

I wasn't at the concert he gave in my hometown in 1976, but he got himself a felony pot possession rap while there.

"Luck is what happens when Preparation meets Opportunity"
I am a little shocked, as I grew up listening to all of his hits in the MTV years and even before.
He did it all very well with fashion and cool class.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Jamming good with Weird and Gilly
And the Spiders from Mars
He played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man
Then we were Ziggy's band
Ziggy really sang
Screwed-up eyes and screwed-down hairdo
Like some cat from Japan
He could lick 'em by smiling
He could leave 'em to hang
They came on so loaded, man
Well-hung and snow-white tan
