avoid this lombardi auto auction on ebay

I submitted the ball for PSA QO and it came back as likely not genuine. Just wanted to help anyone out thinking about buying this junk.

I owned a ball like that one once...It's not so much likely not genuine, but rather the 'signatures' on the ball are machine stamped...

Those balls are not machine stamped but what happened a lot was the equipment managers, secretaries and others who were good at duplicating autos did so. I have a few of these from the 70's and 80's from the Packers. The way these were signed is after each weekday practice a handful of balls would work their way around the locker room to get signed. One player or coach would be missing and poof, here is that ball. I would be willing to bet that most of the players if not all are genuine on that ball.

So you are saying my 1976 Reds World Series ball signed by Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon, and Genghis Khan is not legit?
  • so is this stamped as well?

Did you guys see the following in the seller's description of the ball on ebay:

Signatures may be stamped. There is no certificate of authenticity so I cannot guarantee the signatures. I only have this one to sell!

  • it was not on there originally...a member msged the guy and told him it was stamped so he changed it, but the price is crazy still
